About Me

Ten years ago, my wife and I fell in love with the small-town feel and the open, rural spaces of Loomis. We set down our roots on three acres of horse property and are now raising our family.

As teachers, we understand the importance of family and schools, and the role that the community plays in our children’s future. My oldest son graduated from Del Oro last spring and now attends Sierra College; my youngest is in the band. I come from several generations of small town Illinois farmers, and we respect the importance of agriculture, small business, open space, and community involvement.

I am non-partisan.

Local governance in the Town of Loomis in non-partisan. It’s where all of us come together to decide what serves our community best. I’m not interested in partisan politics because I’m focused on how to improve our road conditions, manage growth on our borders, preserve a small-town culture which is tied to our roots, and foster a strong community where neighbors treat each other with respect and help each other out.

I refuse to have political parties or independent PACs (Political Action Committees) fund my campaign, but I’m proud and honored to have town residents contribute because that’s who I will serve.

I’m a uniter, not a divider.

Our town has done great things when we come together, such as incorporating to become a town, fighting off bad development which don’t reflect our values, and saving our library. I’ve also seen our town make mistakes or become vulnerable when there’s too much in-fighting, inexperience or self-serving interests. If there was ever a time for our town to come together, it’s right now as we prepare to finalize our General Plan Update. It’s the most important document which will guide growth and development for the next 15-20 years. I’ve been a regular and active participant in this effort and want to make sure we get it right. Our future depends on it.

I’m not a politician.

I’m a resident, father, husband, Sierra College instructor, and community volunteer who really cares for our Town.
